Here are a couple of shots of my camera equipment I use underwater, I have two housings for the Nikon D200 a Sea & Sea and a Titan shown here. The Titan has a greater depth rating. I also have a large glass port for the Nikon 10.5 fisheye lens and two Inon strobes with a focus light.

The equipment is heavy out of the water and great in the water.

I would love to have proper underwater gear! It is quite expensive to start out though? :(

Wow – makes my macro rig look like a toy! Nice set up; it looks a strong unit as I guess the rough and tumble of dive boats would damage weaker units.

Cheers

Hi Tommo you can start off with a point and shoot camera in a small underwater housing. I've seen some great shots from that sort of set up. But is you want to take the DSLR under the water then you will need a good housing and either a single or double strobe system.

Yes it's good to have a sturdy unit, it can get bashed on the dive boat. I always have the setup in a plastic box and with foam inside and the dome port covered so it does not scratch.
