And Mr Smith, in the article, used to be an AIPP member. How does choosing an AIPP photographer stop you getting ripped off. The AIPP doesn't payout to clients if things go wrong, etc. The AIPP is a body FOR professional photographers, not a protection mechanism for the client.

Exactlly. The medical board in each state assumes the role of over-seer and has the power to de-register a medical provider, not the AMA. A de-registered medical provider can no longer practice. As photography is not a government registered profession, there is no equivalent in photography to the medical boards.
