    70-200 vri+tc-20eiii

This is a great and light combo for sport or action photography. AF and sharpness are still pretty good, even better than the TC-17EIII !

    Some images taken yesterday :

    Wide open.

    Stopped down 1/3 value.

    Cheers
    Sar

I am not sure if it is the lens or the converter but I think you should get them checked Sar.

If you did a 200% crop on the first photo you would see that the third blade of grass to the right of the young fella's left foot exhibits definite traces of softness.

Just to confirm this is the first generation of the 70-200?

This is a combo I floated as a wildlife lens in another thread. These look very good, I think I may put the TC2 back on the list rather than the TC17.

I'm considering getting the same lens and then putting either the 1.7 or 2 TC on it, but I've read quite a lot of negative reviews on the TC20 combo and outstanding ones on the TC17

I suppose this could be because of the differences between the TC20EII and the T20EIII?

For the same price, I would choose the TC-20EIII over the TC-17EII. So far I can't see any difference between the two TCs on my 70-200 VRI.
