    Reformatting Ext HD

Excuse what is probably a silly question but is it possible to re format a Ext Hard Drive?
I have one formatted for Windoze that I now want to use on my Mac.

Sure is possible, you will loose all data on it of course. You can choose to format it fat32 so you can read write to it in windoze or Mac or you can format it for Mac under the disk utility app in the utilities folder under apps.

Yep. just make sure you format the right drive letter. I have seen someone format their main OS drive by mistake.
