On another forum (Photograpy on the Net) it was observed that there are strong regional differences in brand dominance. But... Canon seems to be strong.
However, like the 4DW ad on TV some years ago.... "You're either a Canon man or a Nikon man"...

That is very true. Go to China and Nikon's are everywhere, they dominate the market in China by a massive margin. But as this is Ausphotography, we just poll our members, who are mostly Australian

Pentax through and through. Upgraded from Pentax Me Super to a Pentax K-r and never looked back. Well maybe a few looks back over my old photos

From the looks of this poll, so far, the Canons are still blazing away!
All my photos are taken with recycled pixels.

Same old same old story Benny, people always pick an MX5 over a Porsche on price instead of ultimate ability.
    Andrew
Nikon, Fuji, Nikkor, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina and too many other bits and pieces to list.

Ummm. Yes! Read the original post, it has links to the 2010 and 2011 polls, and as said, we do it each year.

The MX-5, like Canon, is just better value for money.

Yeah I got to bite that one Benny, much the same as whilst the MX5 is quite a bit cheaper than the nearest "entry level Porsche" and does a fair percentage of the tasks it is asked to do ( but not ultimately) it seems quite at odds with the fact that the D800 has just been voted as a desirable product and in extremely short supply whilst the Canon non competition sits on shelves everywhere unsold and unloved at a higher price.

Maybe, but the Canon RANGE of cameras still outsell the Nikon range of cameras in most countries around the world.

A company is not successful just because of one model!

Anyway, I'll still be buying a 5D3 over the D800.
I think it is a better all around camera., for my uses at any rate.

Yep, faster than worthwhile model updates from Nikon.

Aren't you Nikon guys ever happy!

The D800 by all accounts is a fantastic body.

I'm always happy but this is the ideal thread for people to take a swipe at all and sundry in the nicest ways of course.

Not really, cos all the defectors to the dark side from Canon outweighed a minor shift in the figures.

Canon. But not yet convinced it was the right decision. Still can't get it to focus where it says it will.
