This is the tracking for a lens I am waiting on from America.

I was home until 1pm and there is no card in my mail box (the usual procedure).

What should I do?

If I go into the post office with the tracking number for an inquiry will they even want to talk to me without the card?

First, determine who is the local contrector in Australia - it may not be Australia Post (or have you already determined that they will deliver the goods)

Ask some questions.

I have shipped from US in the past and have had no problems. I have had delays though!

Usually if there is a problem with a delivery, the freight company will contact the person who sent the item.

If I was in your shoes, I would get in contact with the seller first. See what they know.

Then, I would find out who the local agent is in Aus. Usually all you will need is the tracking number (maybe your name and address for security).

How was the iten sent? Post/Fedex/Other Courier?

Good Luck

PS.

Regarding that thread from last year on who is getting an M9.

I am. My boyfriend bought me one for my birthday. It was ordered in December. I might get it by March - if I'm lucky! I recently bought a mint 35/1.4 from the US. It got held up in customs because they didn't have my correct phone number. There was tax to pay.

Cheers

Somebody in Brisbane is getting a M9? We should have a Leica party!

I am going to the post office this morning with my tracking number to inquire. They do know me there so it should be ok.

I am not the first. I was 4th on the list from the place we ordered from. It was not Photocontinental or Ted's so I expect there are many more in front of me in Brisbane!

I was daydreaming in the early new year.... what if.... something really bad happened to ther person in the queue in front of me and they could not go through with the purchase. My expected delivery date would come forward - surely?????.

I emailed with an half serious question .... just wondering...... the lucky sod! was in the shop to pick up his prized possession at that moment!

My delivery date is the same.

So now I try to think nice thoughts about all those people who have one and hope to christ that when I get one that I can focus it. Not to mention, work out f/stops, shutter speeds and ISO settings!

Krzyz,

I have previously had a delivery from the US that was 'attempted delivery' to my work, which is open from 8am - 6pm. There is no way they attempted delivery.

I went to the post office the next day, and my package was there. They needed photo ID for me to pick it up.

I think it's just lazy courier drivers to be honest.

Also, my package was sent USPS, not sure if this means it would have been attempted delivery by an Aus Post courier, or a 3rd party courier. In any case it ended up at the post office for me.

cheers.
Brett
