    G'day Andrew

Just looked at the PR details - yes very nice
How about putting in an order for 7 of 'em ... one for each day of the week
    [tongue very much in cheek]

    regards, Phil

Easy answer, so millions of owners of the existing model can dump their "old" ones onto the s/h market at "bargain" prices and then rush out and buy the new one to have the latest and greatest.

Since when has common sense stood in the way of a lens purchase?

I just bought my wife a diamond pendant, I wonder if I have earned enough "lens purchase points"?

Nikon Rumors lists the lens as available lat May 2010 at US$6,999

So I guess we will see it slightly higher than the existing [old] model
