Excellent! I was having problems with some SD cards, San disk excluded (from their site below)-
When some memory cards were inserted in the camera, “CHA” was displayed in the top control panel and images could not be captured. This issue has been resolved.
A reformat seldom fixed the problem but it's all good now.
Interesting to note that there has never been a firmware upgrade for the D90.
Got it right the first time?

Sort of, the D90 came out a year after the D300 and being so similar in many ways it already gained the "latest" firmware from the D300.
It is interesting to note the models that had and the ones that didn't have any updates through their lifetime, mostly the entry level models but at the same time at least Nikon (and the other manufacturers) give us "free" updates and improvements rather than just fault fixes until the next better model comes out.
Thanks Andrew,
D300s upgraded successfully.
I didn't realise these firmware upgrades were available, so thanks for the heads up

As if they haven't done any firmware upgrades for the D60
I have seen on the Mansurovs site there are now updates for the D600 and D800 mainly AF improvements.
