It's called being lazy or "I wonder what that little window is on the top at the back of the camera is for?". Taking photographs makes me happy but this guy looks like he's taking a snap of his dog that somebody just killed.

This is a common problem. I've seen noob DSLR users do this before. It is freaky

I recently had the experience of handing my camera to someone for him to take a photo of me and my wife. It was on full auto, but he hadn't the faintest idea where to look. A quick grab of the camera and 2 second demo and it was ok. (since I was on an elephant, this was not quite as trivial as it sounds.)

Red face Happy Sony Alpha User

I started with an Alpha 100 and now use an Alpha 550. It is great for action shots and I have used it for the past few months to photograph brumbies in the northern snowy mountains. I use the camera in sports mode. The images are almost always clear and sharp. I dream of owning the Alpha 77

Pup, I am also a Sony user, happy for the most part. I have an A300 and an A55, use a bunch of Minolta lens as well as two Tamrons and a 150-500 Sigma.
what are you shooting with and what are you thinking of updating to?

I now have an A57 plus Sony Zeiss SAL 16-80mm zoom. This was after agreement with the insurance company after it wrote off my DSCR1 (which I loved).

The lens is fine but the camera has some really weird features.

There is a Zoom button right under where you first grip the camera; its only feature for novices and a strange one at that. Really annoying, as it brings up a screen to tell you you can't use the feature in Raw or RAW+jpeg

It's not possible to view the Histogram and the EV scale on the same screen. The only way to see changes on the Histogram as you change aperture or shutter is to work in Manual Mode, so use of A or S or P modes is precluded if you like to expose on the Hisotgram.

Fortunately its "engine" amd 'Transmission" are fine!

If I win lotto I'd go elsewhere.

Funny shot & (I assume) a nice little dig at us Sony/Minolta users.

    I've been a KM5D & A700 user over the years. Now A77. Very happy.

Now I wonder how I look when I take photos...

I'm a happy Sony user, don't think I'll be switching to any other company - I don't have the finance to either way. :P

Used to have an A700 with the 16-105 kit and I absolutely loved the camera. Then I got hooked on film photography and chose a Nikon so I had to buy a Nikon digital as well to share lenses with my film cameras. The A700 had to go but the lens stayed with me just in case I want to try Sony again.
