Good prices for film? Any suggestions?

hi all. anybody know of a good resource for reasonably priced Film in Australia - or even better, Melbourne? I'm talking negative film for both 35mm and 120 medium format.

I've thought about going the ebay route from overseas which seems to be the most economical option, but I've always held back given the distance it needs to travel - I'm thinking it may not be so fresh when it hits my doorstep.

Or anybody had any good experiences / aussie ebay seller to recommend?

    thanks.

thanks for the welcome. yep - been to vanbar. its where i get film currently, usually buying bricks at a time. but - i'm thinking i can do better in terms of price. In fact, it was one of the guys at Vanbar who suggested looking up a certain seller on ebay, but - i've forgotten who it was they suggested. Anybody actually bought film over the internet/from overseas supplier? was the film okay when it got to you?

have bought from BH and freestyle in the past. Fast postage, eg. 5-7 days and well packed. I havent seen any effects of x ray scan.

Ebay is probably slightly cheaper overall if you are looking for only one type of film and only 5-10 rolls. However if you want several different films and the ebay seller either does not have all of these or does not combine shipping, it can be more expensive.
The prices in te US are much more reasonable than in Australia, thats for sure.

One 'big' seller in Australia is cheap_shots_AU I think the seller's name is, there's a few around ebay.
Film in Australia is fairly expensive per roll IMO, maybe if you found some of that chinese Lucky film you might save some, but the quality of the film isn't that good in my eyes.

I bought a few rolls from Lofico last week. Ordered Wednesday, arrived Friday (in Sydney). Prices seem good, shipping was around $7-8 for 6 rolls of 120. They seem to have a good range including some more 'experimental' stuff like Rollei Crossbird and Redbird. Looks like they only do 35mm and 120/220 (not 4x5, etc).

    Cheers.
    Phil.

Some Nikon stuff. I shoot Mirrorless and Mirrorlessless.

I'd love to find a local source - otherwise the internet/ebay is perhaps the only route to go.

I've just stocked up on Velvia 50 120 for my Mamiya

Cheap_Shots_Au is good but still pricey. Get a bunch of people together and share shipping costs from B&H or Freestyle.

if shooting 35mm b/w...keep in mind that you can get 30 metres of neg for about $60 from the U.S.
it'll work out to about $3 for a 36exp. roll

If you know someone in Japan, get them to send you some from Bic or Yodobashi. I picked up a ton of 120 and 135mm stuff from their fridges recently.
