Based on the comments here I have now bought the Crumpler Industry Disgrace as the Canon strap is hard on the neck with a 5d + battery grip and a 70-200 after even a short walk.

You wont regret it.
Got one recnetly as well. $40 including post direct off their site. Cheaper than sellers ebay.
Alos, does anyone know of an alternative mounting from the strap to camera ?. With a heavy lens and the camera point down instead of horizontal, the straps going through the slots on the camera don't look to happy.
Is there a swivel or buckle type system to bridge this join ?
an Rstrap or optech sounds good!
Can you adjust the length of the Crumpler Industry Disgrace - as the dangle thing would be annoying and I am very short as well??

You can shorten the Crumpler considerably,much more than a standard strap.

Anyone know where I can have a look at/buy an r strap in Melbourne?
Black rapid R5 is good and strong strap and very comfortable,I use it with a Canon 1d11n and 70-200 f2.8 and find I can walk around all day with no neck strain.
I have tried several straps and the Crumpler Industry Disgrace gets my vote !

I bought a Lowepro neoprene thingamejig. It's comfortable.

Well guys after all the replies I purchased OpTech Binocular Harness and I love it, when I bend over the camera doesn’t go flying off in all directions it’s comfortable as my shoulders take the weight not my neck, my wife likes it to because it was only $20.

About 15 years ago, I bought a Nikon F50D, but the supplied neck strap was too narrow to support the camera's weight comfortably. So I went hunting for something a bit easier to use and found a mostly neoprene strap from "OP/TECH USA". I don't know whether the company is still in business, but the neckstrap certainly is. - I use it on my Olympus E-3, which isn't exactly light.
