I got myself some Cactus V4's with two spare receivers (I must be pre-empting my strike on two more strobes)
And a guy is sending me a Canon 70-200 f4 to 'trial' - He wants 650 second hand for it, will more then likely buy it - is that a good price?
Apart from that I got myself a Dual Stage Boost controller and a new headunit for my car.
Recently got the 10-20mm Canon (brought it from Odille) and just delivered, my new Benro 357A tripod with the KB-3 Ball head. Needed this size and weight tripod cause Im TALL and now I have heaps of advantages over the old tripod.
Next is the Canon 24-105mm L USM which I will go hunting for next week after we get back from our sabbatical (grateful we dediced not to go to the Sunshine Coast till tomorrow after that dust storm struck today).
Comments and CC welcome..

Well thats enough money spent for me for awhile, but it was fantastic (therapeutic actually) to get some better gear. In the last couple of weeks I have acquired a Benro 357 Tripod (the one they make for tall people), CS4 and a Canon lens: the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 USM.
But wait theres more: today I got a very well known Brisbane Camera Store to match a grey import price for this little beauty below, my first L series lens (Canon EF 24-105mm L 4.0 IS USM); I picked it up today with the full Australian Warranty, lens hood and all the other bits in the box: isnt it beautiful
Next up will be the 7D body, but thats not going to happen until next year: Ive spent all my pennies for this year.

Actually should add Im considering selling the Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 and going after the Canon 24-70mm equivalent to have a complete Canon stable but thats another issue- cause the Canon 70-200mm L in the old non 2.8 version might be my next temptation.
Footnote: Oops, I just won a Canon 70-200mm L USM 4.0 on Ebay so make that 2 L lenses and some explainin to do with the Mrs when she sees a white lens on my camera. They say L lenses become addictive but this is rediculous - stop !!

that's a tuff set up gregg
i love it
now go shoot some pics
I just received my Sigma TS-41 ....... all $225 worth...... sorry no pic
What is it? Why no pic? Well it is a tripod collar for my secondhand (brilliant) Sigma 120-300 f/2.8. The old models come with a tripod collar that you cannot get your fingers under to carry the camera & lens combination around.
No pic? well ........... a couple of weeks ago I had the Sigma lens on my Canon 40D, and a 580 flash as well. Ahem !!! To put it bluntly -- I dropped the lot!! The lens and flash came out OK - the 40D body broke - the sheer weight of the lens (2.5kg) ripped the lens mount out .....
So -- got a new tripod collarwon't drop it twice - I hope
The 40D is in for repairs - $1,000 -- insured
Paid for a Canon 7D - not seen it yet
thus -- sorry but no pics at this time. Not that it is all that exciting anyway![]()

Hope your progress towards doing weddings is making some big steps, your portrait work is very good as is your willingness to cop positive and not so positive feedback... Ive adopted the same attitude nowadays.![]()
