I have it on backorder from Dymocks at 39.95 + 5 bucks post. They said it could take a while but I'm in no hurry. Brolly, stand and flash clamp on their way. Looking forward to learning some new stuff.

    Its good

    Hi guys,

got my copy a few weeks ago. ordered on the monday from amazon UK and received it that thursday, awesome.

It's a great read, lots of tech detail in this one. Lots of gear plugs , he loves the sb900 but still has uses for the sb800, considering the 900 doesnät fit in a whole bunch of coldshoes. My 900 wonät fit in my justin clamp, metal short brolly swivels from midwest, etc. basically it'll only go on the camera or in the plastic foot.

He uses the su800 commander unit all the time with an SC cord to allow him to hold it at different angles to reach all the flashes. All of that will be unnecessary once the new nikon pocket wizards come out but until then, line of sight is still required, especially at the distances he places the SB's from the camera.

So can someone confirm the difference between the 272 page and 320 page editions?

Apparently there are 3, not 2. A 272 page, a 303 page, and 320 page one. I wanna know if there are any differences between them before taking the plunge.

Mine is the 303 pager (Amazon) but don't know what the difference is.

All I can say is I am a little sick of the terms "puppys"

Maybe the 272 pg version was a typo?? I emailed Penguin Publishing directly and they confirmed that the Australian version they are distributing is 303 pages.

It's a bit weird. The copy I got, published by "New Riders" comprises:
    • pages i to xiv = 14 pages
    • 2 pages apparently without numbers
    • pages 1 - 256
    • = 272 pages

Whatever the pages, I'm very impressed with the nook.

Oh, and as to a "new" book: it's marked as published January 2008.

    Happy Easter.

so nobodys got the penguin one?

Is the title different? The 272 is something like "creative applications for small flashes" and from the quick summary its aimed at ameteurs/enthusiasts where as the "big light from small flashes" is more aimed at pros?

...I might be very wrong though...

I guess I'll keep waiting, may as well now after this long. This isn't a problem isolated to them, I ordered a kelby book through seekbooks, and rang to confirm they had it in stock before I ordered...yet, once again...emails kept being sent pushing back the delivery date. Bit between a rock and a hard place cos none of our local booksellers stock the titles i am after, and they take 6 weeks to order them in.

Lani. Give Fullers a try. I know the owner, and both himself and his staff are really goods, they at least are willing to give you accurate information about availability etc.
