    Two items received today!

An Olympus 15mm f8.0 Body Cap Lens from my father, and I purchased myself a seat in an upcoming photo editing workshop by one of the local pro photographers.

Careful, Andy, your larger camera might feel neglected ... .

And it would be great to catch up again . Who knows, the pacemaker Santa is bringing me on 31 January might even make me feel better by then!

I've got a new Sigma 70-300 on order, but whilst perusing the second hand websites I picked up a Sigma 28-90 Macro and a 50mm prime for less than $100 total.

Seeing as I shoot Pentax which is like rocking horse poo at the best of times, I an chuffed.

Wow, nice scores. May I ask which sites allowed you this victory?

I’m having a hell of a time trying to snag a canon macro lens. Grr.

    Try Cash Converters.......

The website currently shows 150-odd Canon related lenses, I'm sure there is something that will suit your needs....

Thanks Liney. Yeah, I have two I’m watching there and will pull trigger soon. Was hoping eBay might come to the party with cheaper options but I got outbid on the same lens twice yesterday, right at the last millisecond. Most annoying thing? It was the same user that bought both lenses. Two identical lenses. Grrr.

I just bought a Nikon D7200 off Ebay which the title clearly stated "Body Only"... what a pleasant surprise when I opened the package, to discover a Nikon f1.8 50mm lens in the package as well...

(I carefully re-read the ebay description to see that, despite the Title claiming otherwise, the 50mm prime was also included )

(note to self... when selling on ebay ensure the title reflects the description, otherwise, those bidders might not push the price as high as they might otherwise have gone... )

I’ve been meaning to mention for a couple of weeks but like to test drive before I get too excited... but I recently purchased a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 macro lens for $300, delivered, from Gumtree. Delayed Christmas present.

Leading up to this I’d been bidding more than this and losing all eBay auctions, so to get it for that price delivered pleased me greatly. Couple of weeks in now and getting used to it... primarily as I only really use manual focus on it... but what a beautiful lens. Love it.

I only put in one bid on the D7200. I figured out my max price, and then waited until the last 5 seconds to put in my bid. No one had time to put in any higher bids

Haha, an eBay master, I see. Yeah, that’s what I do. For a few years there I was buying CDs more or less daily on eBay and found this was the way it operated. I just kept being outbid in those last 1-5sec by someone willing to bid more. There were two times with a second or two to go where I actually thought I’d won, lol.

Yeah, I was using the ebay app on my tablet, which buzzed everytime a new bid was placed. It buzzed about 5 times in the last 10 seconds, so i wasn't the only one trying that on that camera.

    Hi,

I was thinking on a 35mm lens when I read the thread Yongnuo-35mm-f-2-observations.

I received, from https://www.eglobalcentralau.com/, the Yongnuo 35mm f/2 for Nikon.

Sometimes its not about the best IQ, best sharpness, best bokeh .. and whatever.
It's just about having a bit of fun.

Cheap can be fun. Doesn't have to be 'picture perfect' .. just good value for money is enough for me.

.. now just trying to work out how to find more time to have a bit more fun.

Oh! .. and I also got me a new camera, small light compact, dreadful IQ, quite a lot of fun .. no time to get some images worth sharing.
But daughter and myself were in fits of hysterical laughter from some of the test shots it takes.

Will tell more once I have more time to play with it. Also waiting for a few more accessories to help me use it better too.

Searching eBay the other night, and stumbled across this little beauty....

Sent the buyer an offer, and a counteroffer later, it was on the way.

Olympus OM-D E-M1 in fantastic condition, with only 112 shots on the clock

Lucky you Andy. I'm definitely going to have to bite the bullet and go mirrorless, especially for birding, looks like I should keep an eye on ebay. Looking forward to seeing your results with it.
