ok then, maybe I move my family photos to google drive and leave flickr for my more artistic photos. Hopefully that might cut down significantly on my photos in flickr to below 1k...

I think it means that the last 1000 photos I've posted here will be retained on AP. As I link another 3 the oldest 3 linked will disappear from AP.
I know I post quite a few photos but I'd think there wouldn't be to many interested members going back looking at what I'd posted 2 years back.
(Snooks may be an exception)
No, I think it means if your over 1000 you won't be able to upload new photos and past a certian date they will delete from your oldest to reduce your photos to 1000, but you still wont be able to upload new photos unless you delete photos to make space for more

The crap Flickr go on with.
"Flickr at its best is a place to connect, to discover, and to evolve as photographers and lovers of photography. This is the world’s largest photographer-focused community. Together, this newly independent community can shape the future of photography itself."
So let's do this to discourage that then,
"Free members with more than 1,000 photos or videos uploaded to Flickr have until Tuesday, January 8, 2019, to upgrade to Pro or download content over the limit. After January 8, 2019, members over the limit will no longer be able to upload new photos to Flickr. After February 5, 2019, free accounts that contain over 1,000 photos or videos will have content actively deleted -- starting from oldest to newest date uploaded -- to meet the new limit."
Yeah, I know.
Corporate carp is so dressed up to make it sound believable. Who says double-think is dead?
Stay chooned for the next instalment of gobbledygook!
CC, Image editing OK.
I think I should be safe. It has taken 10 years for me to upload my 10 images, so unless they dramatically lower their limit I'll be right for a while
So air-nyway, I followed a link which indicated Flickr was owned by Yahoo...
That was good, as I have a Yahoo account
- It was apparently an old link, because it said that Verizon had bought Yahoo. (I know, who are they?)
It went on to say that Flickr was then purchased by SMugMug!
Strike-me-pink! - Another money-go-round
I'm stoked that Flickr is now owned by Smugmug, the future looks bright, much brighter than either under Yahoo or Verizon/Oath.
For me, its still the ultimate photography site.
I have 2 Yahoo mail accounts, and when they were taken over by Ver/Oath (Bl... Oafs in our vernacular)
you had to click to accept their T&Cs. So I did, and I did, and I did..., each time I logged into one of them.
Then they sent me a few msgs saying to [...pls click to accept...] So I wrote back and said that I had, many
times, and still did. A week later another such message, and to them another message. FF to yet more messages
from them - and to a tirade! back.
It seems to have abated of late
It will be good when Flickr finally get rid of the Yahoo sign in, its scheduled to happen soon!
Can you see them yet? Strange if you can't.
Heres my photostream, if I upload its instantaneous -

Hmm! I've managed to get the 3 pics to [a photostream], but it is not named "ameerat42" like I thought it would be.
Instead, it's got this weird moniker: https://www.flickr.com/photos/160711345@N08/
- Who the hecque is 160711345@N08
A test pic from there...

There's two names showing -
1. Your real name Am Eerat
2. Your Display name ameerat42
If you go into your settings, you can change either.
For a test drive for you, I've left a comment, faved a photo and invited you to add your photo to a group.

OK, ta, I see that, but I was thinking about that hex-numerical-looking text in the link. That's where I thought a version of my name would appear.
It's a minor thing, though, as the name appears elsewhere.

Ridiculous that it took me so long to realise I didn't have to make up a completely new Flickr account
(Just nevva thought about it, actually.)
