    A Newby....

    Hi All...
I'm a new-comer to AusPhotography...and a bit of a beginner. I bought myself a Canon EOS650D about a year ago and so far have only used it on the 'Automatic' settings. I've had an interest in bird photography -- but love taking pics of people and landscape as well... I need to know more of the in's and Out's and I'm hoping that you guys can help me to learn more about Manual settings without freaking me out too much.
Looking forward to our future interactions...
    Lammy

Hi Lammy. Welcome to AP. You're right about the interaction.
Meanwhile, have a read in the Library. You might find some interesting stuff, and post up some of your pics soon.

Hello Lammy and Welcome to AP.. It wont take you long to get off Auto if you hang around here and you could always try Av.
There is plenty of good reading here and by posting your images on the Forums for cc that another great way to learn.
Or you could do what I did put it on Manual and keep playing around with the settings it does not take long to work it out.

    G'day Lammy.
Welcome to a good place to learn. Works best if you get a little involved as you go. don't be afraid to ask questions and make comments.
Some of this may help get you on your away from auto .... http://www.ausphotography.net.au/for...otography_Book
Aperture, ISO and shutter speed are the big deals.
As Mary Anne mentioned, Av is a good place to start taking control away from your cameras clutches. Seems to be what most members here use. Check the results here ... http://www.ausphotography.net.au/for...o-you-use-most

I've been wrong before!! Happy to have constructive criticism though.Gear used Canon 50D, 7D & 5DMkII plus expensive things hanging off their fronts and of course a "nifty fifty".
