News in today tells us that the Alpha A99 has just been revealed.
Seems a bit meh to me but I have yet to finish reading through all the specifications.

The SLT-A99V is a full-frame camera, the first from Sony for quite a while.
You can read about it on the B&H site here http://www.bhphotovideo.com/indepth/...SLTA99VArticle
Also interesting is that Sony have used the same 24MP sensor in a new fixed lens compact, the DSC-RX1!
But it only has an F2, 35mm lens.
You can read more about it here http://www.bhphotovideo.com/indepth/...&kw=RX1Article
Seems a lot of money at US$2,798.00 for a fixed lens compact though.
I wonder what Canon and Nikon will do about it now.
All my photos are taken with recycled pixels.

Good news about the A99. Price seems about where expected (a few hundred below 5DIII) & I'm glad they went for 24 MP rather than 36 (lower pixel density = hopefully cleaner high ISO than A77). I may well upgrade if reports are good after it's been 'in the wild' for a while. In the meantime my trusty A700 still gives good service.
Well... I like the camera. It would be a good backup for Nikon D5000 (LOL!) but ... by now out of my budget.
