A few years ago I had to pay customs and import duty plus GST on a 7D. bought from digital review The camera and 2 kit lenses cost me an extra $300 to $500. but I was still way infront of local prices. This was before the GLUT of "E" stores available now. The stores are more refined today and the consumer a lot more savvy to any additional charges.
