Site browser support statement - inc IE 10 & 11 support

As you may have seen in the site notices Internet Explorer V6 and V7 support has been dropped
This change is due to the fact that vBulletin (our forum software) has dropped support from v4.2.0.
Various CSS hacks that help IE6/7 to the detriment of other browsers have been deprecated.

NB: Internet Explorer V6 and V7 will not render the site correctly and you may find that you cannot post using IE6/7 browsers.

These changes make the technical support of AP much easier, so the AP management are very pleased with this change.
It also encourages people to move to better/faster/safer browsers.

AP support the following browsers on desktop Windows, Mac and Linux ... (until advised otherwise)
    • Internet Explorer: stable releases 9+ inc. IE 10 and 11
    • Firefox: the latest extended support release (e.g. 24.) and above
    • Safari: latest stable (not mobile)
    • Chrome: latest stable
    • Opera: latest stable

AP does not support alpha/beta (non stable) browser releases, use those at your own risk.

For mobile platforms we provide a Mobile Skin (vBulletin supplied), plus the Tapatalk and Forum Runner mobile apps.

For Safari Mobile use the following URL to bypass the mobile style in the first instance. Append ?styleid=39 is the trick.

    http://www.ausphotography.net.au/for...php?styleid=39

It works on my iPhone, albeit I normally use Chrome on my iPhone.

FYI If you are using an old version of Internet Explorer (< 9) you will see a message like this:
    IE67.PNG

    Update:
The current version (4.1.12) of the site vBulletin software is the last in the 4.1.x series and is very stable.
vB4.2.0 will be released in the near future with some new features (these have not been fully disclosed yet as they are in development / alpha mode).

vBulletin 4.2 will not support IE 6 or 7 at all, i.e. any IE version less than 8 will not render correctly and in some cases features will be inoperative.

Q: When will AP upgrade to vBulletin 4.2?
    A: Friday 2012-06-08
We have been running it in test for a month

Currently IE 10 does not work with the WYSIWYG editor.
We are waiting on an update for the site software.
If you have problems please use the Settings to change to a alternate to the WYSIWYG editor...

We have implemented a workaround for IE10.
You should now be able to use the rich editor.
