You can see how really pissed off he is in this video ...... and rightly so! Thanks for sharing.
He's probably right here, but Harlan Ellison holds pretty extreme views on intellectual property. If lending libraries weren't well established, he'd oppose them.
What a twit. He said yes to the interview in the first place. What does he think they were going to do with it? Keep it for memory sake????
He should have said, "You have to pay me if you use it" when he first was asked. Then they would not have wasted all that money interviewing him in the first place.
Honesty is best policy.
CC is always welcome
Nikon D3000 ... Nikon D90... Nikon D700 Various lenses, Home studio equipment and all the associated stuff
I think he has a fair point. If you took a fantastic photo that everyone was raving about, and some big magazine told you that they would put the photo onto the cover of their magazine, would you just give them all the rights to that photo or would you sell them selected rights???
After all it was his interview and his research and his insight into a program that he helped create. It will be sold as DVD's, merchandise etc and the company , Warner Bros (huge corporation) ,will be getting income from these DVD's. If they had to buy the rights to the series, then why not pay the people responsible for the program "extras" that they want to include on the DVD.
Big corporation tight fistedness!!
