    The END?

So I'm sure most of us know about the so called 'ending' of our earth on the 21st of december 2012...
and to me, most of me is saying that it's not true, but then there's that other part of me saying well it's not 100% impossible that's for sure...
if it is real then what a shame we miss out on christmas next year

    So, what are your opinions?
    Life is short, Keep snapping!

It isn't the end, as in Armageddon. Even the Mayans said it was the end of an ERA, so one era ends, another begins. I think astronomically though the alignment of the planets is a very interesting phenomena, I bet all the physicists are looking forward to the event.

Oh and in case I am wrong....See Ya!

Since the event, if it happens, is beyond my control, why worry about it.

well if it happens I will be very unhappy that I can`t use all my togging gear . Seriously folks.....make plans but live each day as if it`s your last. The poor ol earth is sure copping a battering from us polluters so one day it will have to come back at us. So don`t leave your camera or lenses in the bush when you leave after a shoot as they will take thousands of years to break down.....or a kangaroo or other wild animal might break their teeth on them.

But the world is round, a sphere. Where will it end?
(You 4-dimensionalists and flat-earthers keep out of this.)

I haven't heard about this. What's it about. And do I prepare to die this year, or 2012?

I was bushwalking in California when I first heard of this "Mayan end of the world" stuff. I guess California was an appropriate place to be given the proximity of Hollywood.

BUT, I'd spent the 3 weeks prior to that travelling from the Yucatan to Mexico City, including visiting Chichen Itza, Uxmal, Palenque, etc; all mayan sites, with a large mayan population around them still. The intricacies of their ancient calendar was explained frequently, but not one mention of this rot.

well according to a mayan calendar, they end on the 21st of December 2012... and people believe that this will be the 'end' of the earth...

yes, it's sad to think that us humans are slowly destroying the only planet that we can live on comfortably...
lets hope things change in time.

Well obviously the Mayans got it wrong because their society ended waaaay before then.

By the way, this is the 4th prediction this decade.... so wake me up when it really happens!

Oh and by calculations in the Book of Revelations from the Bible, there is still another 1000 years to go (but don't quote me on this one).
