Major review sites all seem to show minimum shutter speeds as 30 sec, even for cameras like Canon 1D.
Which cameras have a Bulb setting to allow use of an intervalometer or manual long time exposures?

30 seconds is the general maximum without using a shutter release (cabled or wireless). Once you plug in a remote release you get access to bulb on most DSLR.

Thanks Keefy and Rick,
Your advice certainly opens up the field. I would expect to be using a cable release, so can now explore further.
