Removing front element from a Zuiko lens

    Hello
I need help on how to remove the front element from a Zuiko 100mm f2.8
with the aim of cleaning it (fungus). Same question for a 135mm f3.5.

You would probably be better served having someone do the work although that is quite likely to exceed the value of the lens (particularly the 135).

Anyway, in answer to your question, most of the old Zuiko lenses have a bezel ring threaded into the filter thread and it has to little slots that engage with a specialist ring spanner. Trying to remove the bezel without the proper tool will likely damage the bezel and have you scratching the front element.

Note that cleaning lens elements of fungus isn't always that effective if the lens includes cemented elements or the fungus has damaged the lens coating.

You usually need to clean more than the front element as if you have fungus spores visible on one element, you almost certainly have them on others.

Olympus Pen F with Metabones Speed Booster and Laowa 12mm f/2.8 or Voigtlander 10.5mm f/0.95 or Nikon D800 with the Laowa 12mm f/2.8. The need to keep in touch with the past is a Nikon Photomic FTn or Nikon F2A and a Nikkor 25-50mm f/4 AI
