    Unhappy Bowens gemini 500r

I recently purchased a 3 light kit from B+H photography in new york, delivered to the door in 5 days and after GST and delivery i was some $1300 cheaper than buying local.
Seems crazy but thats buying on line
MY question is the power source. When i plug them in i Get E1 on the led panel which according to the instructions says the power sourse is not good enough to charge them.
    We are 240v 10amp here and the usa is 110 v 10amp
do i need a transformer??? The instructions say they should work from 95v-240v
    Cheers don

If they are multi voltage they should be good.
The instructions may say 95-240v but what is actually on the head unit ??

That is always my biggest concern with buying that sort of gear from the USA - the voltage difference

Some devices also have a switch to swap between 110 and 240

What about the frequency, 50/60Hz? Is the unit rated for both or only one as that might be the issue.

The local agent might be able to answer your questions but you could also get in touch with B+H and put the question to them.
