Question Viewing latest posts in a thread

    Hi there,

I could not find if this has already been asked, so apologies if that is the case - maybe I searched for the wrong words. Anyhow, I have been a member of a number of different forums over the years and many of them remember (bookmark?) what threads and posts I have read. So, when I returned to a forum I can read from where I was up to on that thread (at least from the last post on that thread the last time I visited it) or see immediately if there are new posts in a thread. This was handy for busy forums with a lot of information available rather than paging through from the initial post each time. Does this forum have that capability? If so, how do I activate it? If not, I would just like to know so, if needed, I can start bookmarking it myself.

    Thanks.

Well, is this what you're looking for? At the top right of the thread there's a menu item "Thread Tools". You can subscribe to the thread without having to reply to it. Later you can look it up again by going to "AP Extras - Subscribed threads". You can un-subscribe from the thread as well.
    Am.
Sorry. I saw you said "latest posts". Maybe that is not the answer.

Thanks Kym (and ameerat42 for your suggestion). That is what I wanted - very helpful.

    Anyhow.. back on topic.
For Allie: as well as the info Kym posted, there is also the small circular link, to the immediate left of the thread title if you view all the new threads in the New Posts list.

So, if you click on the New Posts link, and then you have a list of all he new threads since your last visit(or refresh of the site), the small circle with the two downward facing arrows, takes you straight to the first new post in the thread. Hover your mouse over the link, and a small pop up may appear claiming 'Go to first new post'

Thanks, Arthur. That is the feature I was looking for but it looks different to what I was familiar with - I have used both methods now.

I use under ap extras the threads I posted in to view threads I have posted in. Any one that has a posting is in bold and ones that are quiet are not.
