    error on brand new 7 d

    i am getting an error 50 coming up when i try shooting in auto
    the flash pops up and then the error comes up straight away
    i shoot manual any way but if theres a prob i would like to no
    i put the external flash on and tried and shoots fine
    i have tried the manual but my contretation is all over the place at the moment
    any one got any ideas

    Have you tried switching the camera off then removing and replacing the battery? That is the only instruction give in the manual.

    Gday Macca I don't shoot in auto so I have never had that problem, I googled and all I could come up with is this

    Take it back to where you purchased it and tell them you'd like one that doesn't bring up Err 50 when you're shooting on Auto.

    thanks for the replys it will be something simple
    i have been stuffing with it all day
    i will check that thread out william and see what happens
    i never shoot auto any way
    but i still want to no why its doing it
    its pretty hard to take a camera back to hong kong ona a sat to ask them
    i got it grey but still 2 year warranty
    i swap over every year for tax and keep up with new camera
    so i will never be out of warranty
