    While the first is cool (great interim idea for travel)...I am kind of won over by the second, the tech is not that far off I feel. Its very interesting to think about where we will be 10 or 20 years down the track.

    Photovoltaic glass is already available, and Mercedes have been offering it on some of their cars for about 6 years.
    They use it for sunroofs where at the turn of a knob, you can make the sunroof clear, or tinted with many graduations inbetween .

    You can also buy this for your home, but the cost is a bit prohibitive just now, with Mercedes charging over $6K for a photovoltaic sunroof, I'd hate to think how much a large picture window would cost!

    I first saw samples of the roll-up LCD screens over 10 years ago, and I'm still waiting for them to come out.
    The one I saw was used in a mobile phone, where you could pull the screen out from the phone, so the phone can be small, and the display quite large.
