Adobe Lightroom 3 Educational (ID Required) ?

I recently purchased Light Room 3 from Brisbane U-mart

Its the Education Version and I have purchased Educational before, When I got my Photoshop CS5 from e-bay it was educational but they sold it to me and I did not need to send any details to Adobe to get my key.

I made an assumption this would be the same ordered it and the box turned up, However the box has a message "Academic ID required" I've yet to break the shrink wrap on the box.

I've sent an e-mail to u-mart asking but have not heard back yet

Has anybody purchased the same LR3 did you find a key inside ?

I'm unsure how to take the warning perhaps its just for on the store shelf saying you'll be asked for ID in store
The box has weight to it so the media is inside but I'm unsure if I'll find a key

Hi Jason, no there is no key inside. I had to send a copy of our daughters student ID t Adobe and fill in a long sheet of questions (what school, subjects year etc) and wait for an email confirmation and then they email you the key code to access the program.

Sorry if this disappoints you, hopefully you have a high school student within your extended family/friends willing to help

    That's what I was thinking - Doh !
I'll see what u-mart say and if I can return it should have done more reading first it was an impulse purchase with a solid state drive I ordered

For both the scenario described for your use of CS5 and here for LR if you use the software you are probably in technical breach of the licence

Yes no doubt but the AU prices are a much higher I'm against using a illegal copy of software I use all the time I'm happy to pay but I think the Australian asking prices a rip off personally

Warning: AP rules do not let discussions about illegal methods of obtaining software or breaching license.

This thread is already on the edge.
If in doubt contact the vendor and make sure you are complying with licensing conditions

Kym I see your warning and will try to keep this brief but I do just want to clarify that my daughter is studying creative industries at high school and we purchased both CS5 and LR3 education for her and myself to use (both use the one computer). I do not believe I have done anything illegal and I was not trying to suggest anyone do, sorry if it came across that way

Kassy, kym's post wasn't directed at any one member, rather a blanket reminder, that discussing illegally obtained software, serial numbers, keygens etc is forbidden.
