    Cant see many photos

    Hi Guys,

hope you can help. In many of the posts when i open them i cant see the photo, just get a dah where the photos should be. It doesnt happen though when a file is attached to the post, and also some posts that dont have the little paper clip do open so i cant work out the reasoning.

I am sure it is a setting my end but cant work it out.

Also I'm on my work computer that uses IE8 and cant change to another browser.

    does anyone have any ideas.

    Cheers,
    Steve

My guess is you have blocked a site (probably by accident), when you right click a photo, one of the options is to block content from xxxx. I am not sure how you go about restoring that.

Added: In my browser, Firefox. I right click photo and 'view image info', in there is a tick box that will block content from www.(whatever).com

    imageshack.us

But why on earth do yo have Imageshack blocked? If that's really the problem, chances are that the rest of your configuration is messed-up too. It probably needs a good clean-out, possibly a reinstall. Are you having other problems on this site? On other sites? Have you somehow got referrers blocked or some other silly setting accidentally switched on?

Hi Steve, my guess is that being a work environment some sites are probably restricted.

Sometimes you can get more info (for example an error message) by trying to access the image directly. If you click on "Reply with Quote" the reply window will open. This should contain the URL of the image. If you find the "img" tags there will be a URL shown between them. If you copy-and-paste this URL into a new browser window and try to open the image you will sometimes get a message stating why you aren't able to access the image.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers.

Edit: Note that this is just an example - it has nothing to do with the image you referred to in post #4
