Oh that lens just broke :-)

That lens that the aspiring photographer was having trouble with exposure, has now broke
It is a older Sigma Silver Plastic 100-300 f4.5-6.7 SA mount.
We have just been getting happy with each other when the zoom ring has lost contact with the zoom
Auto focus is now a bit of hit & miss, though I can still manual focus & I can zoom by pulling the zoom in or out.
Is there something I can do with some instructions
OR do I go down to the creek & see if it floats out to the middle or not
    Cheers
    Col

Well, considering it's not yet unusable, your punishment can be mitigated to just going to your room without taking pictures for the rest of the day.

Yeah, I am capable of doing that. But not being inside one before I would like some clues or distructions or whatever.
But it could come to that. Softly softly, is the way
