    freaky

OK, granted I'm new to photography....but this does my head in : I use my left eye to look thru the view finder and keep my right open (as instructed).... I tried to use my right eye to look through the view finder and the (my) brain just doesnt allow it to happen... cant see anything..... its like trying to write with your opposite hand..... why???

No idea why – just one of those weird quirks of nature. Having said that, I notice that when I hold my camera up normally the right eye is more or less blocked by my hand (holding the body), whereas if you put your right eye to the viewfinder your left eye is hanging out in the open.

How about showing us some of these photos. You have asked lots of questions so far, that members have given you great answers for, but each time we ask you to show us some of the photos so we can help, nothing happens.

If you really want to learn how to take good photos, start showing them to us!
