Computer to run Sigma Camera Raw Files

I am looking at a computer to open & run Sigma Raw Images, Sigma Photo Pro 5 on.
My Win XP laptop is tooooooooooo slooooooooooooow.
I have an opportunity to get a Win XP computer with -
    -5 quad core 2.67ghz
    4gb ram
    2 tb seagate hd
    dedicated nvidia 8600gt video card

    Is this good Please ?

I think that hardware would be wasted on Win XP. Install Win 7 64 bit at the start, it is much better, and can take full advantage of the RAM.

That set-up should be fine for what you want to do Col.

If you are going to upgrade to Windows 7, just check that the motherboard will allow you to add more RAM because Windows 7 on my set-up uses almost 2 GB of RAM in idle mode. My old system only had 4GB of RAM and when I used a macro stacking program it used all the RAM and took forever to complete the process.

Go for it colin. Throw windows 7 64bit on as soon as you can. And if you can, add another 4gig of ram.
Thats a excellent rig, and XP would be wasted on it.
