    How did you 'find' Ausphotography?

Interested in how you first found out Ausphotography existed.

Search engine back in 2008. I was looking to find out more about DSLRs and had a look at all the Aussie and bunch of Overseas forums.
AP was the one I chose because I think there was a local meet, the rest is history.

A friend told me about it, I joined up then forgot about it for a while, then got the reminder email and have been coming back ever since.

It's been a while now but I am pretty sure I accidentally stumbled across it while doing an image search, way back when.

As I remember, it happened as Robert Frost suggested, way led onto way... and I ended not taking the road less travelled

A mix between Google and accidental stumble. Before I found this site, pretty much everything I learned about the technical side of photography (pretty much everything aside from the real basics) was either learnt by just trying different things myself, or when I really couldn't figure something out, but I was dying to know I'd just do Google searches.

One day a link for some helpful info must have come up on this site. Now usually I just took the info and ran with it. But something must have appealed to me instantly about this site, and once I looked inside and got a feel for what was going on here I had to join. I'm only really an active member of one other forum on the net (a music one) and had no intention of joining another, but I was amazed at what this site offered. Literally all I had secretly dreamed about since I started taking my photos a little more seriously.

The whole concept of posting your photos and getting feeback, the comps, one place to ask and find out all your camera-related questions... it is a wonderful spot, and pretty much exactly what I hoped might exist on the net, but didn't think would exist. And the fact that it's Aussie/local too, and has a large and active community... it's ideal for what I was after.

Can't remember, it was either through the old Googlemachine looking for an Aussie forum after I moved here. Or from a member (I forget who, sorry) who also posts on a UK forum I use.
