    No.

It is not true that any Nikkor lens will physically fit and work on the camera.

Some lenses ( fairly rare now ) can cause physical damage to the mirror assembly etc. on bodies that they weren't meant to fit. Check the compatibility of any lens that you may want to use on that body.

Ok, so if I am looking for a few lenses to use on FM2, what should I be looking for?

Any Nikon F-Mount lens will fit and work. Nikon G-Mount lenses do not have an aperture ring on the body (designed for use in digital camera's where aperture is controlled from the body), will mount on an FM2, but are useless cause you cannot set an aperture, but they could produce interesting results even though you cannot set an aperture. Nikon DX mount (for cropped sensor digital SLR) will also fit on the FM2, but due to the smaller image circle any photo taken will not use all the 35mm film, and waste a lot of film real-estate. IX Nikkor lenses should never be put on the FM2 as the elements of the lens go to far back into the camera body and will damage the shutter and mirror mechanisms (they will mount though, so be careful in lens selection).

So to answer your question, all Nikon lenses will mount on the FM2, but some you shouldn't for reasons ranging from limited function, limited image circle through to permanently damaging the camera body.

What do you want to photograph with it?
There are lots of lenses available to use with that body but the same as with any camera, some lenses work better for different types of photos.
There are a few excellent 50mm lenses, both manual and autofocus that will sit well on that body and provide very good photos with a "normal" perspective. You should be able to find decent s/h copies of some of them at reasonable prices or you can still buy new versions that will work perfectly.

    50mm F/1.2

    50mm F/1.4
