Now that I have the Nissin flash I need an off camera shoe cord. There are lots of them on ebay which are much cheaper than an oem cord, from about $17 up. Is there anything to be wary of with the cheaper cords?

I would go for cybersyncs myself,give you more options,costs a bit more bu never failed on me yet

absolutely no difference. it's a wire with a shoe on each end. choose a length, buy OEM.
