Air and Land Spectacular - 14-15 May 2011

    Hi all,

Thought I would put this up since no-one else has. The Emu Gully Air & Land Spec. is back on again on the 14th and 15th May 2011, and is a great day out for the family. Also holds some very unique opportunities for the photographer.

    Here are a few image I have taken during past shows;

    Hope to see you there.

I have this silly idea, that I should actually go and take photos with all this photography gear I have already accumulated, before I collect any more!

See some of my photos here.

Allan, Dave - was wondering if you guys went along so that's obviously a yes!

Was going to attend myself but due all sorts of issues during the morning I figured I would have missed most of it so took the family for a drive instead.

Saw the queue of vehicles trying to get back onto the highway near Helidon Spa as we were heading home. Did you guys get stuck in it?
    Attitude is everything!

Paul, was a very busy weekend. Lots to see and do. I was on both days, but oh well, next year. No traffic was not an issue for us, we stayed overnight on Saturday and Sunday we stayed late for the Pyro had additional explosions to do, so we got some great shots up close and personal. I'll post later when I get them all uploaded and processed.

Allan, the shots are awesome. I saw you there

I've taken a few shots but missed the best moment of the big explosion.

As Allan mentioned, no traffic issues for us

Afternoon is when all the big bangs go off, so you could have dropped by.

I believe this is the OP, to whom I owe the tip off for a great day out.

Afternoon is when all the explosives go off. The one I posted above is a special one that normally wouldn't occur and happened at 4:30ish pm.

Most of the big bangs are between 2:30 and 4pm.

    Cool

Hi guys - I'm new to the forum so I trust I am obeying the rules (they all have their nuances not specifically stated)..... I was at the Air and Land Spectacular drooling over that lens that Allan had.

Here are a few shots that may be of interest. I will post some more if I work out that I have indeed posted correctly etc.

thanks David, they are quite spectacular. the explosions are quite vivid more then i expected. but that could be due to the time of afternoon. ian(aka pappa smurf
