Any Panasonic users here?

Feels like a scene from Monty Pyton's 'Life of Brian' . . .Are there any Christians here tody. . .

I use a Panasonic Lumix FZ100. Amazing small sensor Camera!!
(I can't afford a DSLR yet . . teenage Daughters. . you know what I mean)

Just wondering if there are any others among us?

I use and love my Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3. Even with the small sensor I have managed to take some lovely seascapes with it.
You can count me as a happy Panasonic user.

I have used my FZ-30 for tons of stuff over the past 4-5-6 years and love the beastie to death
Have used it for lots or magazine work over this time too

But last year I thought that it was time to invest in a dSLR so got a pentax kx with several sigma lenses
Now I am comparing lens results and the Panny / Leica lens is so much sharper than the siggy lenses I am quite disappointed .....
the sensor is 10 times larger than the Panny but the sharpness is no better - doesn't thrill me at all

However, the pentax does not have noise issues like the Panny does at iso-400 so I wonder which way to go next ?? dunno

Tried a GH2 but decided it wasn't for me.
Great hybrid I have to add but just didn't suit me.

I have the Panasonic Lumix GF1 and just bought the GF2 along with most of the lenses. I love it. I also have a Canon 5D Mark 2 which I love but I find that the Lumix is just a great size to have with you most of the time. It is great to have a camera that takes great shots and is also a big smaller than the DSLR. Sometimes the 5D is just not appropriate to take places.
I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Wow, so I'm not alone out here then.
Good to know.
Its taken a few months but I'm starting to get a handle on the FZ-100.
People in photographic shops keep telling me it won't shoot sport very well but I can do this . . .

I have just (two days ago) unwrapped my Leica V-LUX 2 which I believe is the same wolf in different clothing. I had just about committed to about $2.5k for a Canon or Nikon DSLR when I checked out the Pano/Leica had reasonably fast German Glass and I was sold, (saved a motza!) Can't wait to put it through its paces, that is if I can digest the 218 page manual. I have one concern, the camera came with Adobe Photoshop Elements / Premiere Elements. I have never manipulated a pic on a computer (bit of a Luddite I guess), should I accept the 2.6 gig download and try my hand at photography 21st century style?

PE Elements is a nice way to join the new world
There are plenty of mags in the shops showing the how-to along with video tutorials to help

Yep, Phil is right!
Start a shootin' and load up PSE!
Elements has 3 modes.
FULL Mode that opens all the whistles and bells;
QUICK Edit Mode that is dead simple and automates a lot of the editing process;
GUIDED Mode that actually walks you through a basic editing process step by step.
There are loads of 'How to's' on this site and if you really get stuck just post your questions.
There are some very very talented people here and they all started off as beginners at some stage and are generally very willing to help.
Enough talk . . lets see some shots please!
