Largest ever panorama of the night sky: 5000MP

An amateur astronomer has just created the largest and most detailed panoramic image of the night sky ever made, and is allowing people to download it for free. It's absolutely gorgeous.

At 5000MP, I wonder if it's the largest panorama ever made, period?

AFAIK the largest earthly pano that anyone has admitted to taking/making is a 472,603 x 94,955 pixel image - about 45 GIGA pixels! Shot using a robotic pano head though. An image of the skyline of Dubai - 245 degrees x 47 degrees FOV.

    EDIT - Just found a bigger one. 887276 (w) x 306908 (h). 1.24 TB RAW stitched. 175 degree x 65 degree. 12,000 shots (150 columns and 80 rows). Shot with Canon 400mm F5.6, 2X tele-converter and Canon 7D. Shanghai Skyline.

I don't know the actual dimensions of this, but it's the 80gigapixel London Pano

360cities.net have some great Pano's there - I think somebody has posted this here already though. The Sky Pano is fantastic.
