Steam Train Sunday 8th May & later dates

    Details here

Does anyone know where this actually goes, which line (north or west etc)? The website does not say.

Sounds like a mystery tour. Get on at Roma Street and get off again an hour later. Sounds like fun. Have a crack!

I do not know all the details, but the train lives at the Railway Museum at Ipswich, so I expect it would get into the Ipswich line and go via Indooroopilly to Roma street Station and return

I thought about the stream train tours this morning and figured that because it comes in from Ipswich and does three trips, it would probably do the loops through South Brisbane, Dutton Park, Yeerongpilly and back via Indooroopilly as that would make sense because I could not think of a loop anywhere else within those trip times.
I headed to Dutton Park to see if it would go that way and discovered it was travelling Clockwise, but instead of a steam locomotive, the carriages were being towed by a diesel locomotive, so I decided to go and photograph other things.

Hopefully the steam loco will be out again next month

This looks cool. Shame I just missed it as our last months topic at the photography club was Trains.
    Oh well. Still looks fun!

And the southern downs mob run regularly - they have a lovely little maroon coloured steam loco.
