I was hoping someone could tell me why the price of a 5d2 has gone up $300 in the the last week or so. I would have thought that with the strong Aussie dollar, the price would have come down. Could some one please explain.

apparently shortages in supply of either/both cameras and/or parts for them due to the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan.

Where abouts are you sourcing prices from?
DWI looks like it has gone up, but only around $100 (AU $2467), and bhphoto looks like its about the same as it usually is($USD 2700, AU $2485)
In saying that I haven't been following prices that closely over the past couple of months, but may be due to a shortage?

Thanks for the replies. Makes sense , concerning the earthquke and tsunami. Hopefully the increase is only temporary. I was looking at DDP.
