    Lightroom 3 Price & Availability

Yesterday I headed out to see if I could find some good prices on things amongst the list was Light Room 3.

After visiting WOW, JB , and Harvey nobody had retail stock to be found so I looked at the online option. US$299 sounded good.

That’s until you select Australia as your county and the price becomes $374 with the exchange rate what it is right now that was a little disappointing.

Where have other members purchased from?

That seller looks ok (plenty of seller info) but be careful...
My brother bought Adobe CS from a seller in Melbourne; it was only about $20 cheaper than the other listings, but the guy disappeared after taking the money.
Luckily the payment was Paypal, Ebay took care of the refund for him and it only took a bit over a week to sort out.

I know everyone knows to be careful on Ebay but as it was an Adobe product from an Aussie listing, I just wanted to post the warning anyway.

Perhaps I should say that I have bought Lightroom 3 from that seller with no problems whatsoever. I had already downloaded the trial version from Adobe some time ago, and had it on my computer, then I paid the asking price and within a few hours had the key. I simply opened the trial version put in the key, got the green tick and then registered the product with Adobe.

I did some research on this a few months ago and depending on what your circumstances are I believe LR3 is available for approx $110- $150 in Aust.. Teachers/educators and students can buy it for this price.

For my CS4 I used eBay and got a student license it was all legit and resisted ok so I'm starting to think the same for LR3 may be a good idea

It would be interesting to see if Adobe brings out a upgrade to lr3.3 weather this product will upgrade as well. It is very cheap

Is Lightroom 3 a stand alone program OR do you need to have , say, Photoshop CS4 or later for Lihtroom to work ??

Lightroom is a stand alone product. It really is an improved version of Adobe Camera Raw, and a very good catalogue program.
Lightroom can be downloaded as a trial for 1 month from the Adobe web site.

Yep, ongoing issue with the affiliate program, I will fix it again today, but give it a few days and it will be broken again...sorry

Thats a pretty good price for Lightroom. I had seen the difference in the Aus price from buying direct, and wasnt impressed.
