Looking for gnarly trees around Brisbane

Hi folks,
I have a request from a friend to take pictures of her in and around old and gnarly trees. Does anyone know of a good site in Brisbane?

There are some nice trees up the back of the park on Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Mt Coot-tha.
Also the old figs in Newfarm Park, or even the ones in the City Botanic Gardens.

A bit further afield gets you to the Border Ranges, which have some rather old and gnarly trees, but being in a National Park you won't be allowed to climb them.

Agree with Dave, figs have to be your best choices up there, they are amazing. However, be careful where you place your friend when taking the shots, the complexity of these trees can make the shot look to 'busy' and ultimately detract from the result, so plan and consider the tree and its position within the photos very carefully. Remember the tree needs to compliment the portrait, not distract or over power it. Portraiture is about simplicity, the less elements the more focus on the subject.

I was going to say there are some BEAUTIFUL old trees at Sherwood .. just beautiful! Though I don't know what it would be like around there now since it flooded

Col I didn't see any pythons - too early in the day - 730:am. But I have two pet pythons myself, so there would have been no drama if they had come out.
