    Old Members Award

I love the new members award, as a past winner it gave me a big boost

I'd like to also suggest an old members award for those long standing members who still contribute a great deal, for example AK who still to this days prepared to write short essays to help all and sundry out, and he's just one example

Not a bad idea there Darren. though some of us are a bit young for an OLD members award

Will be interested in what others think of a 'members award' that could be given out occasionally for those members, no longer how long they have been members, for their help etc on the site.

As a newer member, I think this would be a really good idea...I have found that some members consistently give their time to help and advice to as many people as they can (not just me) and I find their comments to be invaluable. Without them, so many of us new photographers would really flounder. Nice idea, Kiwi

mmm I hear you Darren, but Old members award does sound a little limp (pun intended). How about a contribution recognition award, awarded to long standing members who give accurate and and informative guidance to others over a long period.
And I agree about AK, though I'm not a Nikon shooter, I always glean something from his posts.
    Cheers David.

I've noticed an Appreciation Award. (see Kyms signature above) This sounds better than Old Members Award.
Members Appreciation Award. Mods could select a few valued contributors 3 or 4 times a year, and members could vote to determine the recipient. Just a thought.

The appreciation award is different again, we have only ever issued about 4 of those, mostly to members for their efforts outside the site. Things like service in Afghanistan, volunteer firefighting during the Victorian Bushfires etc. The Appreciation Award is to show AP's appreciation of members activity away from the site generally.

If we proceed with this, we will have another name for it.

I vote for Kiwi's suggestion, but I am not sure whether anyone would want to win it. .
