    K7 manual mode help wanted

trying to sort out manual mode so that if and when the cloud clears here in Canberra i can shoot the moon.
when i set manual mode shutter and apeture the ev bar is showing extreme under exposure.
the settings i have made are 1/250 at f8. this is just a starting point i arrived at from reading people's postings here.
do i need to worry about the ev bar while shooting the moon with these settings, or will it mean that the sky only will be affected.
    cheers
    cc and enjoy

The meter uses the ev bar to show what it computes, mostly it sees black. Getting the moon centred and using spot metering is too hard.

When shooting the moon take a few trial shots to get the exposure right, ignore the metering. f/8 1/250 ISO 100 is good start. (Edit: for a full moon)

Edit 3/4 moon is better as there is more shadow contrast detail

    One I took in January...
