Extreme climate change .....

This weekend my daughter is havnig her birthday party at an Ice Skating Rink. We live in QLD and my camera or lens has never experienced cold conditions before.

What effect will the cold conditions in the skating rink, have on my lens and camera ?

QLD is Humid
+ Gross temperature drop
= moisture

I'd pack a camera bag with a lot of fresh desiccant sachets (silca gel), and leave it for good 30 minutes in the cold before using it.

Or even better, pack your gear in a sealed case (pelican type), again with a lot of fresh desiccant, then when you enter the cold environment there is no moisture in your gear to condense.
