    Resizing and sharpness

Hi, After i have finished processing my image, i resize it using in PS CS4, When i save it back to a file in JPEG onto my computer, the quality and sharpness no longer exists. Is there something i am doing wrong??

Ok i am using CS4, But where is the DPI option? I am fairly new to forum and sharing my photos so i have never needed to resize my images as i print them off and hang them on my wall So forgive me if my questions are BASIC.

Mark the last thing I do when working on photos is apply USM (Unsharp mask) this cleans up the edges of the shot. Experiment with different settings til you get what you think looks right. The shots I was doing last night I used - Amount 55%, Radius 1 pixel, Threshold 0. Try this as a start point then adjust the sliders to see what happens.

My problem now is trying get my file size down, my image is perfect in PS, then to save it to Jpeg on my PC, and get it below 250k my jpeg option from 1-12 is saving it at medium 7. This then saves the file to my computer at a lower quality and de-sharpens my image. I think this is where i am having my trouble. I think my file is to big to start with maybe????

Thank you for your help, i have figured out if i resize it to a jpeg through Nikon's Picture Project, then open it in PS at the size that i want it seems to work ok.

Thanks for all your help. This is the photo that i was playin with.

Looks like your issue is resolved. Since we both use CS4 (I have now CS5) I'd like to add that whenever I intend to upload an image to the web I use the "save for Web" option which gives me a correct colour reproduction on the screen which previously I found got diminished after saving it "as JPG" .
