Taken from about the same spot before & after Yasi just across the road from my front gate.
The council has spent the last couple of years reclaiming the beaches after the last event.
Back to the drawingboard.

Sad as may may be John , I cannot wonder why Councils still keep going when they know it will happen time and time again
I lived North in Bluewater about 4 kms from Toolakea Beach in the 90's and experienced nasty Justin and a few minor cyclones in that time.
And I was amazed at the damage the sea did to the beaches all along the coast to the north, shifted the sand dunes and dumped all the rubbish into lagoon like pools.
It is certainly a mess there above with the footpaths upturned like that I wonder why they don't waste the taxpayers money and build a concrete wall beside the footpath
I don't recognize that beach as being in Townsville itself, is it near the Golf Club or is that gone now, or is it North going towards Mt low or Saunders Beach

I should have included the location Mary Anne.
It is Rowes Bay ..... Looking towards Palleranda.
If you reckon this is a mess you should see the Strand, it's shredded.
I will wait until the major clean-up is completed before going there.

Don't blame you John , Yes I thought that was where it was near the golf course. It was so beautiful the Strand.
I was taking to my eldest brother on the phone this morning he usually lives at the Villa McAuley Retirement Village Mundingburra and they have been without power all this time.
He has gone to stay with one of his Sons as he need power for his Oxygen he said he was a shocking mess too, he has been back once to empty the fridge.
Its a terrible shame all this damage, you take care now..
