Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG APOMacro HSM II ??

    Hi all,
What are peoples thoughts on the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG APOMacro HSM II lens. Reviews seem to be positive but wanting some input from real users. Will be putting it on a Nikon D90 body. Looking at using it at the football (AFL) under lights and also games during the day, indoors and a bit at night.
I guess what im looking for is real world reviews and thoughts of the forum members who own this lens. Im a little concerned that it does not have OS (cant afford the one that does) is OS necessary on a lens like this?
Will also be pairing it up with the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 HSM OS as well.
    Any thoughts ???
    Thanks

    G'day ,
I have just recently bought the OS version of the Sigma 70-200, very nice, quick to focus and as sharp as you would want
I would think with football as long as you can keep your shutter speed up it will be fine

    I shoot Canon
    Cheers, Mark

If you don't know whether you need OS "on a lens like this", I'd say yes, you probably want to save up for the OS one.
handheld 'guide' is 1/300 at 200mm for sharp photos.
with OS you can get 'some' sharp at 1/60 at 200mm

people who choose not to buy OS know why they don't need it, or how they'll compensate for it.
