    Ordering from Dell

I ordered a 10inch netbook from Dell on Friday at about 11am, and I received an email confirming the order, and it stated that I would receive another one confirming payment "shortly". I didn't receive anything on Friday to confirm payment, but credit card reflects that the money was transferred.

Can anyone who has ordered from Dell previously [I have but orders have been done by my father, so I haven't known details etc] shed some light as to when to expect the payment confirmation etc.?

Last time I ordered something from dell, it took about 3 days for the payment confirmation email to come through. (This may have been over a weekend). I'd worry if you don't receive email by Tuesday.

    Thanks for the reassurance Rob

I thought it seemed a bit odd that they would say "shortly", which I take to be a couple of hours, yet they mean a few days

Bought a desk top from them & they made good with all their claims re delivery times etc.
Arrived on time & specifications exactly as ordered.
    Very efficient.
    Relax, it will arrive.

I've ordered from Dell before - in fact, Dell is the only company I order from - and I haven't had any issues with them.

Haha I'm relaxed now, just wasn't quite sure what to expect after the email I received

I ordered a Dell in 2006, and Xenedette ordered one recently. I cannot remember how long my laptop took to arrive, or the timing between emails, but hers was available within about two weeks or thereabouts.

Don't be too worried about the payment confirmation; 'shortly' is one of those terms to describe some undefined amount of time. You should have something within a few business days.
