Looking at getting a cl pl filter for my EF-S 55-250mm. Reading on the internet that it may cause problems with the rotating focus on the front of the lens.
Anyone using this lens and a PL filter without problems?

Canon 450D 18-55mm and 55-250mm kit lens. 50mm f1.8.
More to come when money permits.
I have the same set up and it works. I just focus then turn the cpl filter by hand to adjust. It will spin independent of the focus ring.

thanks for the reply.
What about in af servo mode as I want to take action shots of surfers.
This would be more difficult. You could hold the front edge of the filter in place with one hand while shooting. You may need 3 hands though. There is also a risk of unscrewing the filter and dropping it.
Thought that might be the case, oh well not to worry.
Thanks for the help
You could always try using a linear polorising filter.
They don't care which way you have them on.
I've never tried one though, and they could cause some moire interference patterns on your sensor, but then again, they may work perfectly.
You'll have to try one to be sure.
